The wonder and magic of a child's imagination is something that we all should experience. Bringing their imagination to life is something I really enjoy doing. I set out to make the most magical fairy experience that these two little girls would remember for the rest of their lives. First, I found a location that truly seemed like fairies lived there. It is a magical yet hidden location in Odenton, Maryland. Then, I set out to find the most beautiful and realistic dresses that would make them feel like they really are fairies.
After looking for several days I found two gorgeous yet comfortable dresses at Princess and Hero Dress Ups and Costumes | Little Adventures The first dress is the Springtime fairy dress which you can find here Little Adventures Springtime Fairy Dress Up Costume and the second dress is the Butterfly fairy which can be found here Little Adventures Butterfly Fairy Dress Up Costume. In order to really bring the fairies to life I also bought the coordinating wings for each of the costumes. I also bought an elf costume for their baby brother so that he could join in on the fun.
For this session I made two mushrooms in order to really bring the fairy forest to life. After all my fairies needed to feel as if they really are super tiny just hanging out with each other on a beautiful spring day. On the day of the session, I loaded up my car with multiple props included two mushrooms that I made. I met the kids with their mom at the parking lot for the location. We got the kids ready and then we set out to the location which wasn't very far from the parking lot.
Overall, it was a nice day the sun wasn't too harsh, and the location looked as magical as I remembered it did last year. This location only appears during the spring and quickly disappears within a couple of weeks. I prefer to use actually locations as it tends to bring the session more to life not only for the kids, but the overall photo just looks better in my opinion.
